Stacey Yuen, a native of Moraga, California, began her dance training at California Academy of Performing Arts. She has attended respected summer dance intensives at Cedar Lake Contemporary Ballet, Alonzo King’s LINES Ballet, and Hubbard Street Dance Chicago.

In 2014, she earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts, graduating with honors. During her studies, Stacey also studied abroad in Prague, Czech Republic, taking classes with the Academy of Performing Arts and with contemporary company Laterna Magika. She performed in works by notable choreographers such as Crystal Pite and Kendra Portier during her time at NYU - Tisch. Stacey then went on to work with Seán Curran and the Santa Fe Opera, dancing in the American premiere of Dr. Sun Yat-Sen. She has also worked with and performed in works by Johannes Wieland and Stella Zannou at the one small step dance festival in Corfu, Greece. She was invited to train with the Budapest Dance Theater for a year in addition to being invited to workshops with BODYTRAFFIC, Amancio Gonzalez (Forsythe Improvisation Technique), Wayne McGregor | Random Dance, Club Guy & Roni, Emanuel Gat,  Raza Hammadi, and many others. She received a scholarship to attend the invincible losers workshop series, now known as B12, where she was able to work with Johannes Wieland, Tom Weinberger, and Sita Ostheimer. Stacey is a founding member of PETRICHOR Dance, a New York based company lead by Dexter Carlson. She also lived in Hamburg, Germany working for 3 seasons as a dancer and rehearsal director with the Sticky Trace Company under the direction of Uta Engel.

Upon moving back to the Bay Area, Stacey has worked with choreographers and companies such as Lenora Lee Dance, Alyssandra Katherine Dance Project, little seismic | Katie Faulkner, Robert Moses’ KIN, RAWdance among others. She also teaches Ballet, Tap, Jazz and Contemporary at California Academy of Performing Arts.
